After-School Traffic Issues
By Jake Johnson
At the start of the new school year, getting a new schedule was a way to spice up the new year and get rid of hallway traffic problems but now it’s causing different traffic problems.
The new schedule has middle school getting out five minutes later than last year. It doesn’t sound like a lot but now lower school, middle school, and high school are all getting picked up at the same time. The traffic line has even started to back up all the way to the entrance of the school, sometimes onto the main road.
These issues have gotten so bad, an accident that occurred. Of course the accident was not bad. Some people even say it happened because of the new schedule.
Mrs. Noviski, the head of middle school, absolutely supports the new schedule; she said, “The only problem with the New Schedule is the traffic issues.”
“I think the new schedule is a great way for teachers to be more involved with their students, and the Dives give students more choice. But the traffic is very bad. If we could, I hope to get rid of the traffic line.”
Until a solution to the problem is found, you can expect to see honking cars, and long traffic lines.
